Women are supposed to be sick but not too sick. As someone who has several chronic health conditions, I was interested in reading this book just from the synopsis, Small sick a girl. If you have a chronic illness that is invisible to society and you wish you had someone who could understand your pain, this book is definitely for you.
I'll still be recommending it to other I know with chronic conditions because those parts were immense. None of the points made in this book are wrong. It could have been something so much more.
It's great that she's written this and I hope it promotes understanding of this condition and all it entails - the medications, Small sick a girl, surgeries, hospitalisations and humiliations. Patriarchy being cute as ever. All her essays are written in a feminist light but also contain her unique, critical undertone.
