I don't think Dr. By nitpicking people aren't allowing Disney to simply make a film like they'd make any other film. The origin IS American, as you said, and Madd I mean Tiana IS supposed to be an American princess, Proncess maddy, so it fits. The only good is the classic movies and some of the animated ones that came out in the 90s. I thought it would have been cool to have a modern-day princess in Cinderella's situation because today's princesses act differently than they did in movies made in the '50s, and it would have been really interesting to see how she responded to her situation.
