Ben Smith, Marred man. White's later novel is much more emotionally accessible than A Boy's Own Story. Edmund White is a masterful writer, describing both surroundings and feelings and emotions with symphonic clarity, Marred man. I just feel like I've seen this story before older gay man seems to attract endless stream of young, attractive men - though this novel is somewhat autobiographical, so one has to wonder how much wish fulfilment is going onand it bores me.
