A travelogue, probate inventories, a series of letters, surviving vessels, and still life paintings all revel in contrasts of color, surface finish, and place of origin.
In this degradation of the profession, the architects directly criticize the ways of working in contemporary architecture. We can approach this question by turning to Lorenzo Magalotti's eight Lettere sopra i buccheri Letters about bucaros of His letters compare the color, shape, and flavoring power of the bucaros of Portugal with those from three locations in the New World: Guadalajara, Nata, and Chile.
